This project was designed to force us to think about the composition of interior spaces, specifically in section. It is also focused on the interaction between line, point, plane, and solid and the experiences that they can provide when combined. My project became a piece that jointed moments of stasis, within all of the solids, and moments of movement, between these solids. In the image above the white areas represent solid and the wood represents line, point, and plane.

Verticality Study - Studio 1-B
This study is meant to diagram the conditions in Skirchanich Hall a building on the University of Pennsylvania's campus. Skirchanich was used as a precedent for this project.
This model was created without using adhesives. We were given a large piece of grided paper then were instructed to cut the paper while still keeping it whole, so if the model was undone it would form back to the sheet. The overall goal was to make the model as high as possible.
The Cereal Box Model represents a study based on how space can develop through the process of subtraction. The subtracted pieces were folded and reformed to create different experiences within the shape's original bounds. The overall piece was created only by folding.

This model is based off the Cereal Box Model and focuses on extracting the planar surfaces that formed in that model and reinterpreting them.
This model studies the linework associated with the Cereal Box Model's interior and exterior planes.
This model focuses on extracting the massing that was apparent in the Cereal Box Model. Since that model was only planar surfaces, this Massing Study Model focuses on reinterpreting the voids as solids.
This model is a composite of the mass, line, and planar models. The overall composition is meant to focus on certain experiences including vantage, threshold, enclosure, movement and rest, repetition and memory, among others.
